All gone and food!

I have been sorta kinda trying to teach Walker signs for different words since he was about 6 months old. I had barely tried to teach him "all gone/all done", but after going to The Little Gym classes for a few months(the teacher there signs a lot of words), he started signing it! He does it all the time now, I'm so proud :) He also says "a-guh" when he signs it which translates to "all gone".
One of the signs I taught him is the sign for "food/eat". I have been doing that one for a while now, but not too consistently. The last few days I have been doing it more often, and yesterday he ran into the living room where John and I were sitting, looked at me, and signed "food"! I was so excited :) I went to the kitchen and asked him if he was hungry and he signed "food" again! Then he tried to climb into his highchair.
I am one proud mama. :D

Blog Fashion!

Lately I have been getting pretty involved in the digital scrapbooking world. I am creating for two designers, ScrapKitchen Designs, and LCC by Amy Stoffel. This means I am part of a team that creates layouts with the designer's new products and I promote them by posting in various galleries and spreading the word about their beautiful designs! I am loving it, it is a lot of fun. I have met some great girls and I think I'm getting a lot better with scrapping! I can't wait to have a book completed and printed out for Walker someday. It will be a great keepsake. I love doing something creative for myself while at the same time, preserving my family's memories. I put some links to my favorite scrap galleries on the side of the blog :)
One of my fabulous fellow LCC by Amy Stoffel creative team girls designed this awesome "Blog Fashion" that Amy will be selling soon. Isn't it so cute?! I tried to make my blog pretty before, but it never looked this good :) Hopefully this will inspire me to keep up on my blog!

So, onto the fam. Walker is growing like crazy, I don't understand how time passed so fast. He is running everywhere. He never walks anymore. He is talking up a storm. His words so far are: Daddy, Ma, doggie, uh oh, duckie, and he does sign language for "all done" and he just started signing for "come" when he wants us to come over to him or pick him up. He also puts the phone to his ear and says "Whooosit", meaning "Who is it?" and he says "Whassat", meaning "What's that?". His new favorite activity is climbing into and out of things. There are three cloth bins on the shelves of his changing table. He will take a bin out, empty it, and climb in it and sit down. I got a picture of it the first time he did it. I can't wait to scrap with it. We also have an end table that I use to put the computer and external hard drive on which has a magazine rack on the bottom. It is empty, so one day Walker decided it would be a good seat. He is a little big for it, so once he got in, he couldn't figure out how to crawl out. He was super frustrated and yelled until I finally figured out how to squeeze him out lol. I thought he would be scared and not do it again, but he does it at least twice a day, every day.
Walker had his first haircut last week. I was a little sad about it, but his hair was getting too long. It was getting in his eyes and he was always getting food stuck in it. We thought he would throw a fit through the whole thing, but the only time he fussed was when the clippers were going around his ears. He did great! We were so proud of him :)

Well that is all for now :) Hopefully I will be back here again before 3 months have passed.

My Walker Bear

My little Walker Bear is growing up so fast. He has been off the bottle for about a week now! I saw that he was getting a little bit attached to it, so I knew that the longer I waited, the harder it would be to break him of it. I changed his schedule up a bit, and he hasn't fussed for a bottle at all! I think I might have been a little more attached to it then he was lol. I am very proud of both of us. :)
He is talking up a storm now, his favorite word is still dog. He also tries to say duck, ball, jump, and uh oh. He walks around jibber-jabbering all day. I love it, it is adorable.
Walker loves to try to jump. I will say "can you jump?", and he will say "dum! dum!" and bend his little legs and stomp around. It is pretty much the cutest thing I have ever seen. He is so proud of himself, everytime he does it, he claps afterwards. He also loves to dance. Any time music is on, or anything with a beat for that matter, he dances to it. Even the dishwasher. He bends down so low while dancing that he almost always falls down, but he gets right back up and keeps dancing. :)
Right now Walker has a cold. We took him the the emergency room last night because he had a fever, threw up, and was then breathing really fast like he couldn't catch his breath. I called the nurse line at Madigan, but I was just too worried to sit around and wait for a call so we packed up and spent 4 hours in the E.R. Ugh. It was a long night, but worth it of course. They decided that it is just a bad cold. They did chest X-rays and they looked perfect, so they sent us home. We were relieved. He is doing much better today. He just has a little bit of a runny nose and is coughing every now and then. I think mostly he is just uncomfortable from the congestion.
John and I are thinking about trying to take a trip to Hawaii. Walker too of course. We are getting the new homeowners credit and will hopefully have enough left over to take a little trip. Since we never had a wedding or a honeymoon, we feel we deserve it. :) We think it would be a blast and Walker would love the beach I think! Hopefully we can go!

Yikes

I was doing so well at this blogging thing in the beginning. Now I am really slacking. Walker is doing so many new things each day, it is so important to me to record them all. We had a good time at Walker's birthday party, but Walker didn't. He was really overwhelmed and clung to us the whole time. I was disapointed, but oh well. At least he won't remember that he was scared. He had a good time helping me open his presents though. He was standing up in the big inflatable chair for the birthday child with me and had fun seeing all his new toys. We are in toy overload now. I haven't even opened them all. There just isn't enough room for everything!

Yesterday was Walker's first day of class at The Little Gym. During the warm up where we sing songs and do little excersises as a group, he was really shy and scared. But once he warmed up and had time to explore, he had a really good time! At the end they bring out a ton of balls and he just didn't know what to do, he was so excited! He also loved the bubbles. He followed them around and tried to pop them. It was so cute. I am really excited to go each week and help him get over his shyness a little. It is also really fun for me to meet the other mommies and just see Walker learning new things and have a good time.

He is doing so many new things just since my last update. He now tries to say "uh oh". He can't say oh yet, so he says "uh uh". He says it all the time. He will throw something just so he can say it.
I'm trying to teach him to feed himself with a spoon or fork. Last night I put some yogurt in a bowl and gave him a spoon. He gets to put the spoon in the bowl, but thats about it. He doesn't understand to then put it into his mouth. So, with the yogurt he decided to drink it like he were drinking from a cup. He picked up the bowl and put it to his mouth. He actually got some yogurt out so he kept doing it. It was too cute.

Walker just got his two top teeth yesterday. He has been teething for what seems like forever so I am so glad that they have finally popped through. The top right one is in quite a bit and the left one is just barely in. I can't believe how fast he is growing. It blows my mind how much he is learning each day.

Well, I will leave with some pictures. Walk is getting cranky and it's time for American Idol :)

Update

Ok, so I have been really bad at blogging for like the last month. I have digital scrapbooking to blame for that. I love sweetshoppedesigns.com. The community there is so fun and there is a challenge a day which I love! It is a lot of fun and makes me feel like I am accomplishing something for myself.

Onto the update. Walker is changing so much lately. He is getting more and more independent each day which is bittersweet. I love watching him grow up. He amazes me with every new thing he does. He is now waving to anyone and everyone. He doesn't say Hi yet, but he loves to wave! He also does this really silly "scrunchy face" as we call it. He scrunches up his nose and eyes and mouth lol. He does it all the time and breathes in really hard and almost snorts. It cracks us up, it is just adorable, I love it. Another one of his new tricks is to hand us everything, especially Macho's toys. He brings them to us and waits for us to throw them for Macho. If we don't throw it he practically throws the toy on you until you do it. He also hands me his bottle when he wants me to hold it for him so he can drink. He is drinking from sippy cups really well, though he won't always take his milk in them. We're working on it. Walkie also loves to roll around and play on the couch. When I am sitting on the couch he will come up to me and put his arms up until I lift him onto the couch. He will stand up holding onto the back of it and then flop down and lay on his side. He rolls all over the place and he just loves it.

He has this dog/blanket that my Mom got him that he is just in love with. No matter what type of mood he is in, if we show him the doggie and say "who's this?", he will automatically get a huge cheesy smile on his face and yell "dah!". He does the same thing with this big white teddy bear that my Mom got him. He calls it "teh", for teddy.

Our little man is walking like a pro now. He took his first steps on December first, and it took him about a month before he started really walking every once in a while, but then one day out of no where he started walking all the time! Now the only time he crawls is when he falls and can't find anything to stand up on. Though today he stood up without holding onto anything. He pushed off the ground to stand up twice.

He is so independent now when it comes to eating. It is funny but super frustrating for me lol. He only lets me feed him baby food when he is really hungry or has something to occupy his hands like the jar lid or a spoon. He wants to feed himself but doesn't understand putting the spoon from the bowl to his mouth, and he is so picky with finger foods that he just throws everything on the ground for Macho! The only things I know I can get him to eat any time are apple slices and chewy granola bars. As of right now he likes nutri grain bars, toast, and pancakes.

The 19th was Walker's first birthday. ::tear:: lol. I just can't believe that my little baby is one. It is unreal. Last night John and I were looking at pictures from when Walker was a few months old and I just couldn't help but cry. I wish I had taken more videos and cherished those moments more of him being so tiny and young. I just never realized how fast the time would pass and how much I would miss him keeping me up all night, nursing all day long non-stop, and crying every time I set him down. lol. I absolutely love watching him grow up, but I know that he, my first precious baby, will never be my little tiny pumpkin again and that kills me. lol.

On a lighter note, we had a fun day on Walker's birthday. Unfortunately, John was working a 24 hour shift that day so he was gone all day, but we were able to have breakfast together. I made chocolate chip pancakes for Walkie and he LOVED them! I put a candle in them and told John to keep him from touching the flame and before John could even think, Walker grabbed it! Luckily, he didn't even flinch. Needless to say, we sang him happy birthday with the candle not lit. lol. Later that day Walker and I went to lunch with Britt and my Mom. That night, John found out he was getting off early so we were able to spend a little bit of time together as a family before Walker went to bed. This Saturday is his party and we are really excited. Although, Walker has a little cold :o(. I am hoping he will be in a good mood. I am planning on waking him up early on Saturday so that I can be sure he will get a good nap in before his party starts at 2pm because I know that if he doesn't get a nap in we will be in big trouble. lol.

Here are some pictures from Walker's birthday.

Here is a video of the little man walking from January 8th. He is even faster and more steady now.

Whew!

I feel like we have been going non stop since before Christmas. We have had some down time, but I am totally addicted to digital scrapbooking now so that has taken up my free time.

Well, we had a great Christmas. Walker was completely spoiled just like John and I expected. We got him a few things and he loved each one of them. That made us feel good :o). My parents and sister got Walker tons and tons of toys and clothes. I am so grateful for my family. Not just for the presents lol. For many other reasons as well. Walker was a little too young to understand presents this year, but we still had a great time.

John got me a beautiful garnet necklace that i did not deserve at all! It is Walker's birthstone and I cried when I opened it, it is just perfect. John always outdoes me with presents. He tells me just to accept it lol, but of course I want to suprise him sometimes!

Today is the first day of 2009. I really can't believe that 2008 is over. I guess what I really am astonished by is that my baby will be one in 18 days. It seems like I was just holding my little 7lb peanut in the hospital. I can't wait to have another newborn, but I don't think I'm ready just yet lol. I am very excited for Walker's birthday! John and I can't wait to turn his carseat forward facing. Though I wanted to keep him rear facing as long as possible, the convertable carseat we got just does not fit in our car rear facing. He is already over 20lbs so I think he will be ok forward. I also know he is going to just love being able to see us and everything going on around him. He is so aware now, he amazes me everyday with the new things he can do. He is now walking a lot better. He walks 4 or 5 feet before stumbling, and he is trying to walk faster now. His fine motor skills are getting so much better everyday. He got a toy for Christmas where you put a ball in a little tray that spirals down to the floor, and he does it by himself after my showing him only a few times! He also got a shape sorting toy and he tries that by himself too! The funniest thing is that we have this bamboo foot stool that Walker likes to stand up on and put things through the holes. Then he bends down and gets it out and puts it back through a hole. He will do this for a while at a time. I never showed him to do this, so it is so amazing to me that he thought of this all on his own!

I'm pretty sure Walker's top teeth will be coming through anyday now. At least I hope. He had a fever the last few nights so I took him to the Dr. yesterday. Everything was great, so they said it must just be from his teeth. He is a little grumpy and is having a lot of trouble sleeping. My poor baby. I hope they come through soon.

With the new year I am going to try to do a few things different and a few new things. One new thing is a project called 365. I am going to take a picture everyday, and each week make a digital scrapbooking page of the 7 pictures. I am so excited about this project and am determined to stick to it! I will post my pages here each week :o).

Gimme Five

The snow is still falling. We are supposed to get 8" by the morning! It is beautiful, but I still need to get one more present for John! Only 4 days til Christmas! I can't wait :o).

Walker is getting more and more independent every day. He screams and throws little tantrums whenever you take something from him that he wants or when he's ready to get out of the highchair. He is a busy bee. I think his top teeth are coming in any day now. He has been really cranky and is having a little trouble sleeping. Hopefully they come in soon. I hate seeing him uncomfortable :o(.

On a happy note, John taught Walker how to give high fives! It is adorable. If you put your hand out and say "gimme five" he will hit your hand- usually twice lol :o). Then he gets really excited. He is getting so big! It is so exciting to see and hear all the new things he is learning everyday.

Well, I just started getting into digital scrapbooking, so I wanted to share my first ever page :o)
